Part 3 of InnovateOhio’s AI education toolkit discusses how to apply existing resources to create and implement AI policies within Ohio’s schools.

As Artificial Intelligence is becoming more prominent it’s important to understand how it can impact K-12 education.. The AI Education Toolkit is an online guide for K-12 educators, policymakers, and parents with resources to increase AI readiness in Ohio Schools.
Part 3 of the toolkit covers resources for policymakers. This module takes into consideration the steps of policy making discussed in part 1 and the resources listed in part 2. It lays out 5 steps explaining how such resources can best be utilized and implemented the create AI policies within Ohio schools. These steps are landscape analysis, identification of core values, derivation of principles, formulation of policies, and implementation of policies.
Part 3 of the toolkit is can be used in tandom with the rest of the toolkit to or on its own to inform AI education policies within schools and districts.
