Description
The National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments developed its Building Student Resilience toolkit for middle and junior high school educators to help students build resilience and overcome challenges. The first module of the toolkit is designed for educators working with students in the classroom and covers the effects of stress and trauma on the brain in addition to the elements of resilience. The module includes a comprehensive training guide, individual handouts, and a slide presentation. The accompanying handouts contain toxic stress indicators, common classroom triggers, a classroom environment assessment, and seven strategies educators can utilize to foster resilience in the school.
