Description
The Gatehouse Bullying Scale is a 12 item scale that measures both covert and overt bullying. It was developed by Lyndal Bond PhD and has been shown to be a valid and reliable measure of bullying. The scale asks questions about teasing, name calling, spreading of rumors, being left out, physical threats, and being hurt. It also asks questions about how often these events occur and how hurtful they are.
This scale could be useful for educators or administrators to get a more objective understanding of the prevalence and severity of bullying in their schools.
This scale can also be found in this compendium of assessment tools published by the Center for Disease Control https://www.cdc.gov/youth-violence/communication-resources/BullyCompendium-a.pdf
