Description
This document is about Cultural Responsive considerations when working with someone experiencing grief.
“While illness, death, and dying are universal experiences, the ways in which our clients respond to them are shaped by their individual cultural identities. It is the responsibility of the provider to learn how the cultural backgrounds of their clients influence their beliefs about death and mourning. By approaching grief with cultural humility, providers can more compassionately and effectively support clients in their individual expressions of loss.”
This is Fact Sheet 4 in a series of informative Grief Fact Sheets 1-5 created by the Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) Network.
