Description
Social determinants such as education, socioeconomic status, and disability are the biggest cause of health disparities within Ohio’s population.
To improve health outcomes, it is crucial for healthcare providers to understand the relationship between social determinants and patient health outcomes, and to combat one’s own internal biases. Ohio Medicare has created a series of training simulations to educate healthcare providers on social determinants of health and provider biases. This training can give healthcare providers a better understanding of these issues and provide them with tools to better serve their patients.
This resource provides background on Ohio’s health outcomes, the impact of social determinants of health and provider biases, and links to the Ohio Medicare training simulations. The training can also be accessed at https://mcares.ohio.edu/
