Screening Tools compiled by the AAP

This is a list of publicly available screening tools for children, adolescents, and parents compiled by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

FREE

Description

The American Academy of Pediatrics has compiled a list of screening tools available in the public domain. The list includes general behavioral screens, psychosocial screens, and screens for specific disorders for children, adolescents, and parents. Each screening tool has information on the age group the screener is for, the number of items in the screener, available forms, psychometric data, and a link to the screener.

This list can be a great resource for pediatricians and mental health professionals looking to understand what types of screeners are publicly available. As stated in the downloadable document this list is not exhaustive, it is intended to provide a representative range of screening instruments suitable for primary care that are in the public domain. Additionally, psychometrics may vary based on the findings of different studies and there is considerable variability in the strength of psychometric reliability between measures.
